wasn't that way earlier today. this place was packed with raven's fans. hours before the parade, fans are getting their spot on the street. sunday's super bowl win was a dream come true. >> we were here about three hours before the parade. we are excited. >> i've never been to a super bowl or super bowl parade. this is a once in a lifetime experience we can enjoy together. ♪ >> the closer it got to the start of the parade, more fans showed up. soon, the sidewalk was packed from city hall to m&t bank stadium. >> i'm so excited. just really happy. >> we just won the super bowl,

will never forget and i'm sure you are happy you were there inside. >> you betcha. >> still a lot going on on the ground. we want to keep you up-to-date on the congestion. >> getting in and out of downtown baltimore is going to be rough. monitoring that right now is capt. retailer. >> the only place we have real heavy traffic is of lombard street. you are going to see traffic is still extremely heavy and a lot of pedestrian traffic around the area, working their way to the restaurants for a quick bite to eat or nice dinner. howard street has cleared out. that's a good thing to report. anywhere around the area of m&t bank stadium and camden yards has cleared out but there are still quite a bit of cars parked on the parking lot. i guess they have worked their

way into the restaurant or into the inner harbor area. light rail traffic is able to move again that as far as we can tell, everything is clear. earlier today, when we saw the parade route working its way from city hall all the way to m&t bank stadium, it was unbelievable, especially the people around rayless. -- around ray lewis. they had people taking care of his protection because of the overenthusiastic crowd. everyone piled in behind and followed him to the stadium. i would say there were thousands of people walking that parade route. i have never seen anything like that my entire time being here in baltimore city. we've covered preakness and the

serious condition. we will monitor this story as more details become available. more late breaking details from police in howard county. a 17-year-old high-school student is accused of raping another student and we are told it happened inside the school. the arrest in colombia where a 17-year-old rape another student, a 14-year-old girl during school hours. according to detectives, he approached a girl in the hallway, led her to an empty room and held her down against her will. he is being charged as an adult with second-degree rape. police in baltimore county seat or two vehicles involved in a deadly accident that killed a pedestrian. one of the drivers have not been found. it happened just before 5:30 this morning along the security boulevard. investigators say 43-year-old man was trying to cross the street when he was struck by a the first vehicle. that driver remained on the scene and the man was struck by

another vehicle which kept going. no word on any possible charges. >> baltimore city firefighters have moved to condemn the patent lumber come pre after the massive fire. the building has completely collapsed. this was the scene allowed the 600 block of pennsylvania avenue. authorities continue to search for a possible origin. it was breaking news last night. nearly 100 firefighters were called to battle the flames. five were injured when the building began to collapse. all five have been released from hospital and we are told they're in good condition. >> a cloudy and chilly day with snow showers moving through the area this evening. they track from southwest to northeast. up into cecil counties, along the i-95 corridor west to

the parade. >> it is day two of deliberations in the murder trial of felicia bond -- felicia barnes. the first thing the jury as he was one of the most controversial pieces of evidence. let's go live to courthouse east for the latest. >> jurors may be the only people in town who actually worked all day. they did have to go back into the courtroom this afternoon and no, they were not delivering a verdict. they did want to see for a second time the so-called sex tape which shows the victim and the defendant playfully being into meant about six months before she died. prosecutors said in their closing arguments that something was sparked the night the video shot that is a grown man thinking about a 16-year-old girl. jurors are working to decide whether michael johnson is

guilty of first or second-degree murder. johnson is the ex-boyfriend of the girl's boyfriend. prosecutors are trying to convince jurors that he killed her and got the body into the river. you will recall her body was recovered four months after she disappeared. the case is largely circumstantial and relies on the testimony of an inmate whose story is lacking key elements of corroboration. closing arguments yesterday took three and half hours. outside the presence of the jury, the judge expressed concern about the evidence the state has presented. jurors watched that tape and watch a short piece of tape that shows -- from a wal-mart store, it shows the defendant walking out of the walmart carrying a storage bin. the storage bin has been a key piece of evidence.

no actual story today that the body has actually been recovered in the bid. >> high temperatures today were all little below normal. it didn't damper this celebration at all. even snow showers and flurries coming to the area but not bad for this time of year when we can pick up some big snowstorms in early february. a high of 35. average i was 43. record low in the single digits. around area, we still see flurries and snow showers. the general track is southwest to northeast. this system producing this storm will be about a couple of hours and it's not impossible that some of these heavier bursts of showers could pick up

around for a good part of tomorrow and thursday. sunshine in the forecast and 41 to 46 degrees. the florey's may continue into tomorrow morning before it begins to clear out and off -- and thaw out. partly to mostly sunny tomorrow with clouds building back in. sunshine tomorrow and a beautiful day on thursday with a high of 42 degrees. arawn baltimore, the average high is 43. 43 is the target tomorrow. the problem for the next few days could be friday morning. rain and cold air will result in freezing rain, maybe impacting the rush hour before changes to rain and then clearing up in time for the weekend.

>> it seems hospice care is on the increase. a new study from brown university finds 40% of medicare patients use hospice in 2000 and, double the amount that used the service in 2000. the number of patients spending life in intensive care during their last month of life went up. researchers say the patterns show hospice care is becoming more mainstream, but many seniors are receiving potentially painful treatments they don't need in those last days of life. new research suggests yearly mammograms may not be necessary for older women. a large study found getting a mammogram every other year was just as beneficial as annual screenings for women between ages of 66 and 89. women screened by annually did not have higher rates of breast cancer according -- compared to

women screened yearly. there were also false positive results compared to 29% in the age range screen every two years. results of a new study may have some men getting up off the sofa and on to the treadmill. young men who watch 20 or more hours of television a week at a 44% lower sperm counts than men who watched the least television. those who did 15 hours of moderate to vigorous exercise a week had a 73% higher sperm count and the least physically active men. a reduced sperm count as unnecessarily reduce the man's fertility or ability to father a child. >> less than a month before the automatic spending cuts hit the government. that might mean widespread layoffs affecting defense and domestic programs. what the president says congress needs to do and fast. >> snow showers moving through the area, but there

on in washington, the clock is ticking down to march 1 toward automatic spending cuts. >> president obama is calling on congress to delay the cut. our washington bureau reporter has the latest. >> the task is to agree on plans to slash the trillion dollars from the deficit with the deadline of march 1. right now, there's no deal in sight. >> i believe they should at least half a smaller package. >> president obama is calling on congress to pass a short-term measure, a combination of spending cuts and tax measures that would delay sequestration until the start of the next fiscal year. >> there's no reason the jobs of thousands of americans who work in national security or education or clean energy, not to mention the growth of the entire economy should be put in jeopardy just because folks in washington couldn't come together. >> the president says the delay will give congress more time to work out a longer-term deal. >> the sequester is $500 billion

temperatures mostly in the upper 30s to nearly 40 degrees. the flurries and snow showers are falling into surface temperatures are above freezing. any slick spot that tries to develop oil last too long. the flurry and snow showers lined up along the i-95 corridor. parts of cecil county getting flurries and snow showers. it is a breezy out west, that is where you could get more substantial snowfall. we can't rule out a light dusting of snow fall as is whether system tracks through, but by the time we get to midnight, most of them will have finished up and we will be left with cloud cover and we will set out quite a bit tomorrow. a good deal of wednesday sunshine. clouds and a flurry may linger but it should be a brighter day tomorrow. the northern suburbs have a chance for a light dusting of
